Email marketing is not just all about unsolicited emails with advertisements making outrageous claims. Unfortunately the abundance of spam which inundates Internet users each day has caused many to formulate a negative opinion about email marketing but savvy Internet marketers who understand how to market successful enjoy an advantage over the competition by turning to e-newsletters to reach more potential customers. This article will discuss e-newsletters and how they can be used effectively as part of an email marketing campaign.

An e-newsletter is very similar to newsletters which are printed and distributed via mail or other avenues. The most significant distance is the method of distribution. While traditional newsletters are typically mailed to the recipients or distributed in person, e-newsletters are distributed exclusively online. These e-newsletters may be either emailed in the body of an email message or may be included as a link in an email which directs the recipient to the website for the e-newsletter. In either case the recipient can read the e-newsletter while online and print it out or save it to their hard drive for future use.

The contents of an e-newsletter may vary somewhat drastically depending on the business the e-newsletter is promoting, the purpose of the e-newsletter and even the personal preferences of the business owner and the employees producing the e-newsletter. However, the general format for an e-newsletter is to include useful information in the form of full length feature articles or shorter pieces offering useful tips. The e-newsletter should also contain at least some subtle advertising for the products and services offered by the producer of the e-newsletter. These pieces of advertising should not be blatant and should allow readers of the e-newsletter to formulate their own opinions regarding the products or services.

The content of an e-newsletter should make up the bulk of the document. This may include full length feature articles which provide information for the readers. It may also include shorter pieces which may offer tips, review products or offer advice to the reader. The key to providing high quality content in these e-newsletters is to have them written by a capable writer who is knowledgeable about the subject matter. The writer may have an understanding of the subject matter or may simply be able to research the subject and learn enough to write accurate and informative articles on the topic. In either case the distributor of the e-newsletter should carefully review the content for both quality and accuracy before publishing the e-newsletter.

Distributors of e-newsletters should also consider including graphical elements into their e-newsletters. This may include product pictures or any other relevant graphics which provide meaning to the text of the e-newsletter. A graphic designer can assist you with this endeavor by helping you to create graphics, crop them appropriately and place them in a prime location on the layout of the e-newsletter.

Finally, distributors of e-newsletters should carefully consider their audience before using email for marketing purposes. The primary consideration should be whether or not the target audience is likely to be receptive to marketing in the form of emails or an e-newsletter. If they are likely to respond to this type of marketing it is worthwhile to pursue an email marketing campaign. However, care should be taken to ensure the emails sent to the target audience are designed specifically to appeal to these potential customers. This type of specialization should include the type of language used in the copy, the layout of the email or e-newsletter and the graphics used in the email or e-newsletter. Additionally, the copy should be filed with information which will be useful to the recipients.

Another factor to consider is to whom to send the emails. Sending these emails to a large group of recipients who have not requested information from you and have no interest in your products and services is a waste of time. It is a better idea to ask customers and potential customers if they are interested in receiving more information and having them join an email distribution list if they wish to receive more information. Sending your emails to this distribution list ensures the majority of recipients will have an interest in your products or services and are not likely to automatically delete your emails as spam.

Improving Your Email Marketing Response Rate With Google Slapper

March 2nd, 2009

google slapper list building[Editor's Note: Improving your email response rate can literally multiply your profits. Google Slapper, a new course from email marketing guru Jay Deiboldt, shows you how to do this quickly and effectively. Read our complete Google Slapper Review for the skinny.]

An email marketing campaign can be an extremely effective way to reach existing customers and prospective customers alike, but if you are not getting the response rate you would like from your existing campaign, it may be time to look at ways that you can improve your rate. If you do not already know your response rate, it is certainly time to find out. You can easily do so by making sure that you use an email marketing service that provides information on your open and click rates.

One of the most important things that you can do to improve these rates is to make sure that you have established a clear connection between the services and/or products you provide and how your prospect or customer can benefit. The key to turning your newsletter readers into actual clients lies in subtly blending those benefits with information and content that your readers will find helpful and informative.

This means that in order to successful accomplish your goals you need to carefully reference how your readers can benefit. One effective way to do this is to reference the experience of previous clients. If readers can see exactly how others have benefited from your service or your products they will be much more likely to click on the links in your email marketing campaign to find out they too can benefit. This is actually a great way to clearly help your readers see how you can assist with solving a problem they may very well face.

It is also important to make sure that you establish yourself as an expert, so do not be afraid to ‘toot your own horn’ so to speak, provided that you do not go overboard with it. In order to trust you enough to trust their business to you, prospects must see that you are clearly an expert within your field. Including information about your industry accomplishments within the right context in your email marketing campaigns can be a great way to establish yourself as an expert and encourage readers to come to you for products and services.

Finally, do not let yourself be afraid to get personal in your email marketing campaign newsletters. Readers are far more likely to make purchases from someone they feel they know and can trust than someone that seems impersonal. Toward that end, make sure that you let some of your own personality shine through in your messages. You might even think about including a section that is clearly dedicated to informing readers about you and your company. This type of About Us section is a great way to help readers connect with you and more clearly visualize what you can do for them.

An email marketing campaign can be comprised of many different parts and certainly should be in order to be well-rounded. Naturally, the ultimate goal is to promote your products and services but toward that end it is also important to make sure that you include several other key elements in order obtain the best response rate.

Email Marketing With Google Slapper

February 28th, 2009

google slapper email marketing[Editors Note: You've heard it all before - the money's in the list. But how can you build a list without any prior experience? Find out how with the Google Slapper marketing system. You can read our full review of this exciting product here.]

Email marketing is one of the best ways to build a huge business online. How exactly do you do this?

One of the first things you should do to build a huge email marketing list is create a 7 day ecourse. This ecourse will be given away for FREE just for customers coming to your website and signing up using their email. This 7 day ecourse is key because people love free stuff and they will have no problem providing their name and email address for this course. This is one of the best selling tools possible and you will be using their information for future sales.

Let me give you a small example of what email marketing can do for you. Let’s take a look at a list of 2000 subscribers. When you develop a new product or sell someone else’s product through affiliate marketing, you want to sell your product to your email list. Let’s say your product is $30.00 and ONLY 10% of your email list buys your product. That is $6000.00 per product launch with only 10% of your email list buying your product! The numbers are phenomenal and having an email marketing list is key to being successful in any type of business. Many people ask the question, ‘How can I drive customers to my site to sign up for my email list’?

One of the best ways to drive customer’s to your website the inexpensive way is through article marketing. Article marketing is one of the best methods of marketing your website and drive customers to opt-in to your email list. Article marketing will cost you ZERO dollars to write and zero dollars to publish. It is FREE advertising and one of the BEST ways to drive customers to your website.

Another great way to drive customers to your website is to post on forums relevant to the product you are selling. Contributing to forums with the link to your website in your signature is another great way to drive FREE traffic to your website. Most people shell out thousands and thousands of dollars a year driving traffic to their website and fail to use these 2 absolutely free methods. Some people choose to go the google adwords route when driving traffic to your website. The only problem is that this method can be costly if you are not careful. If you are on a thin budget the 2 methods I recommend are article marketing and forum postings.

As you can see now, having an email list full of hungry customers wanting your products is key to your success in the internet marketing world. It is extremely hard to be successful without email marketing and it is a vital piece of internet marketing that sometimes goes unnoticed by the majority of email marketers. I wish you the best of luck in developing your email marketing list. My advice to you is to never give up! Your success in this industry takes time and practice without a lot of trial and errors. Sometimes it takes a few failures to be successful in this industry!

Advantages of Email Marketing in Google Slapper

February 27th, 2009

email marketing google slapper[Editor's Note: Jay Deiboldt is one of the fastest rising stars in the realm of email marketing. Find out how he used email marketing to generate a full-time income only six months with his Google Slapper course! You can also check out our full review.]

Email marketing is quickly becoming one of the most popular forms of Internet advertising. This is because there are many distinct advantages to the concept of email marketing. However, email marketing does have some disadvantages as well. In this article we will examine the advantages and disadvantages of email marketing and will also provide some insight into how to plan and execute an effective email marketing campaign.

Email marketing certainly has a set of unique advantages over other types of marketing both online and offline. Perhaps one of the most significant advantages to email marketing is the ability to reach a worldwide audience with minimal effort. It is certainly possible to reach a worldwide audience with other types of advertising but traditional types of advertising such as television, radio and the print media are not nearly as effective for reaching potential customers around the world all at once.

Another major advantage to email marketing is it is extremely affordable. This is significant because there are many other types of marketing, including Internet marketing, which are significantly more expensive than email marketing. The costs associated with email marketing are minimal. Ideally you will already have a list of email recipients who are interested in your products and services so there is no cost associated with obtaining a list of email addresses. Additionally the cost to send out emails is minimal and can be considered part of your regular operating costs. All of these factors already make email marketing extremely cost effective.

However, there is some cost involved in email marketing. Primarily this is the costs associated with writing the advertisements and creating any graphics which will accompany the email advertisements. This will require hiring a writer to write the copy for the advertisement and a designer to create and implements the graphics. The cost of these services will vary pretty widely but in general you will pay more for writers and designers with more experience. This is because these writers and designers are expected to be able to produce a higher quality of work than those with less experience could produce.

The most obvious disadvantage to email marketing is the possibility of having your email marketing viewed as spam. This is a very important problem because it could prove to be quite costly in terms of the profit margin for your business. Each day Internet users are bombarded with unsolicited emails serving as advertisements. This problem has reached epic proportions and the abundance of spam infiltrating the email boxes of innocent Internet users has to be cautious and suspicious about any email they receive which is unsolicited and appears to be promoting a particular product or service.

Emails which contain subject lines or content which appear to be similar to spam may be automatically transferred to a spam email folder by the email system. Emails which are not automatically deleted may be deleted without being opened simply because the recipient does not recognize the sender of the email. Both of these problems can result in essentially wasted time for the business owner because the recipients are not even viewing the emails advertising the products and services offered by the business. Additionally, they may result in complaints being lodged against the company for being a purveyor of spam.

Now that you understand the advantages and disadvantages of email marketing, you might wonder how you can maximize the advantages to use email marketing to your advantage. The most important factor to consider is your email distribution list. This should consist of former customers who have expressed a desire to receive emails with information and advertisements as well as potential customers who have also expressed interest in more information.

The content of the emails should also be carefully considered. They should certainly highlight the products and services you offer but should do so without appearing to be a hard sales pitch. A writer with experience in writing this type of copy should be able to assist you in providing insightful and accurate copy which also entices the reader to find out more about your products and services. Finally your emails should provide the readers with a call to action. This should be a statement urging the reader to take a specific action such as making a purchase or researching a product.
